Murder by Algorithm Reviewed by Seven Days

My favorite newspaper, and perhaps destined to be the last newspaper left standing when everyone else is scrolling Tik-Tok, reviewed my book! This happened in May, and…I completely missed it.

This “short take” review is great! I mean:

…this smart, well-paced and occasionally absurd sci-fi murder mystery represents a deft genre synthesis…

Damn. Yes. That was exactly what I wanted to write.

And Dan Bolles’s further description of my book surpasses mine. I should print it on the back cover. (He does start the review with a “what if an AI did write this book…” joke, which I think we’ll find is humor that does not age well.)

I am astonished and grateful to Dan (and to everyone at Seven Days) for looking deeply at my work and blurbing it for the world.

Douglas Beagley

Several distinct and engaging sentences all about Douglas, and how he's super humble and also super interesting and heroic.
